Wardrobe building begins

The time has come when the building of my wardrobe begins. We will be starting with the basic undergarments first.  I have checked out some online varieties that I would love to try out.
Kwik Sew 3881 Misses Panties
 Kwik Sew 3594 Misses Bras

This will be a new adventure for me but I am sure excited to see the outcome. If you have sewed these beauties please share your experience.

Knowing your fabrics

Do you get frustrated when you purchase a very nice piece of fabric, you cut it out, you start sewing and you come to find out the garment either hangs wrong, or just simple does not look right. In everything I do I want to  put out quality works that means I need to educate and practice, practice, practice. I have put together a list of fabrics that are suggested for your garments.
Just a small example below:

Undergarments fabric
silk
stretch satin
tricot

Cardigan fabric
Sweater knits

Pants (ex. Palazzo pants)
Silk crepe

Blouse fabric

Viscose
Rayon
Polyester
Knit
Chambray

Dress fabric
Double knit-ponte
Rayon
Chambray

There are several more fabrics to mention but this is just a few to get familiar with.

Minimalistic

I was just thinking that I am lacking key items from my closet. The essentials are missing and I can't wait to get started with this awesome adventure. I relocated back to Arizona from South Carolina after 5 years and vowed to myself that I was starting with a fresh new life... no longer consuming the tired old clothing I had for years. My thoughts were to create my entire wardrobe by hand!! So far it has not happened but at least I can say that I have not purchased any new items. I definitely been living the minimalistic lifestyle.

Welcome to Kellyz Closet

Sewing has been a passion for me for over 20yrs. In my earlier years I have dabbled a bit and created some cute clothing items but never had an interest in learning the art of sewing. Now years have passed and I have evolved to invest in myself by learning the correct way of sewing a beautiful garment. I crave to sew quality over quantity! What I want to do with "Kellyz Closet" is create a closet of majority "DIY" my style, from undergarments, shirts, pants, skirts, dresses to outerwear.

Please stick around with me on this ride of creative sewing, come with me to "Kellyz Closet"
